This is a present for It's his nekojin samurai. The idea behind this was, he was a samurai in the Nekojin kingdom, and got disenchanted, and somehow got stranded on a tropical island! He then really got into the groove with the island beat, and became obsessed with pineapples, and had silly Hawaiian print Kimono and Hakama. His inspiration for all this? A commercial for knives where they sliced a pineapple in half! XD
OKAY, so, I really don't draw anthros often. This really marks my third ever I've attempted. So take it easy on me if I've commited some cardinal sin or some such. I wanted him to look both old, and easy going, which is why I arranged the face and ears the way I did.
THIS PICTURE was hell to draw. I've worked on it oh, about 5 days off and on, and ONE complete day. Woke up worked on it. Took a three hour break, worked on it until now....1am! The problem? THE LINEART! I've not attempted so detailed a background, and it'll be awhile before I jones to draw anything with leaves ever again. STUPID PALM TREE. n_n You turned out so pretty! This really put me through hoops on forcing myself to take it to another level, and I appreciate this piece more than any I've done before. I'm insanely proud of it. I'd even go as far as to say it's my best work yet. This background is my finest work. It is. He ain't half bad either.
Only gripe, is perhaps the sword, and I couldn't quite get the patterns to jive, But since they are printed on the fabric, they don't exactly need to be crisp, as the drawing lines, so I'm not too concerned. Part I'm thrilled over? Those rocks with moss and water. I COULD KISS those rocks and water. My first attempt at a stunt like that, and I'm feeling mighty fine about it. I went a little nuts with shine, I wanted EVERYTHING to glow!
......You know, this makes my second cat person in Kimono I've drawn in a row. Oi.
What is there not to like? The colors make him seem about to leap off the screen, and I love how harmonious it is. And I think you did a fine job on the print!

We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
